Things to see and do in Fowey and the St Austell Bay area.
Below are some of the most popular sites and attractions in the Fowey area:
Beaches
The beaches of Cornwall are amazing and have a lot to offer for everyone, whether its to surf or sunbathe there is something for everyone. Big open beaches perfect for beach activities such as Power kiting at Par Beach. To small secluded coves that are picture perfect havens of paradise. Most beaches have facilities of some sort especially the well kept beach car parks and land of the National Trust. The Beaches around the Bay of St Austell and the coves stand out from many around Cornwall. The South East facing Side of Cornwall is an area of outstanding beauty, with many River estuary's, headlands and nooks and crannies to explore and relax in.
Dogs are allowed on some beaches but beware of summer restrictions.
Eden Project
Probably the 8th wonder of the world, the Gigantic Boimes based in the foot of a disused quarry form a spectacular horticultural bonanza. The Eden Project in Cornwall is a fantastic asset to the county and offers something for everyone from young to old. The science centre is a brilliant edition to the whole attraction.
With a Rain forest Biome and a Mediteranian biome they create some spectacular scenery, with massive trees and plants that collapse when you touch them this really is an amazing set of gardens.
National Trust Buildings and Gardens
The National Trust are Custodians of much of the Coastline and historic buildings in Cornwall. From St Micheals Mount and Lanhydrock house to the beaches of Crantock and Chapel Porth there are many places that you can go to use your membership in the area.
Brewery Tours
St Austel Brewery in St Austel is a brilliant example of true Cornish spirit. The small Brewery has some brilliant characters and offers some great brewery tours and a vast range of beers to taste from.
Heligan gardens
The Gardens of Heligan are a great way to loose yourself in a natural wonderland of colour and smells throughout the summer. The well maintained Gardens have something for everyone, a wide range of Flore and a number of Natural Local residents from Song birds to Roe Deer.
