If you are looking for an exciting new challenge, Via Ferrata (meaning "iron path" in Italian) offers an extraordinary mix of alpine hiking and rock climbing.
This experience is built for those with a variety of abilities, meaning even those with little experience can join in. Get active, mountain climbing while taking in some incredibly spectacular views.
At Vertical Descents we are the first to provide the Via Ferrata experience in Scotland and have created a wonderful high-altitude climbing experience you and your friends and family will never never forget!
Our Via Ferrata is located in Kinlochleven, near Fort William and Glencoe. This unique and exciting activity runs beside the third biggest waterfall in Scotland, The Grey Mare's Tail. Equipped with fixed cables, staples, ladders and bridges, this route allow users to access this spectacular environment without the risks associated with unprotected climbing. With state of the art specialist Via Ferrata equipment, sponsored by Petzl, you will be permanently clipped on to the continuous safety cable. This combined with expert guiding ensures you are in the safest hands possible allowing you to experience and enjoy this seemingly inaccessible environment.
